Clay Zeller-Townson, bassoon

Clayton F. Zeller-Townson, is an energetic and versatile performer who performs widely on many kinds of bassoons.  Recent seasons have brought him to venues in Japan, Singapore, France, Germany and throughout North America.  He performs frequently with the countries top period orchestras including Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra (Toronto, ON), Trinity Wall Street, the Sebastians, Mercury (Houston, TX), Clarion Society, Bach Vespers NYC, New Vintage Baroque and Helicon.  He is Artistic Director of the Musicians of the Crimson Menagerie, an ensemble specializing in 19th century salon music, and Associate Director of New Vintage Baroque, a group dedicated to the performance of new and old works for period instruments.  He is on the faculty of the North Carolina Governor’s School and has presented masterclasses at the University of Missouri and the Eastman School of Music.
